The second Major is near for golf gambling fans

Despite the popularity of sports gambling in Ireland, it is a well known fact that many sports gambling fans will only follow their own favourite sport. Even then some gamblers will only gamble on the big events such as the Derby or the National in horse racing for example. One of the sports where this often applies is golf, even though there are now golf tournaments being held somewhere in the world almost every week of the year. The island of Ireland currently has many of the top golfers in the world rankings, a remarkable situation given the size of the country, but for many Irish golf fans gambling on golf is still often restricted to the Majors. If you are one of those golf gambling fans who look forward to the Majors, you will be aware that the second golf Major of the year, the US Open is rapidly approaching with just one more tournament to complete before the big one. One of our favourite golfers, Rory Mc Ilroy currently holds this title and until the last few weeks many of us were hoping to be confidently gambling on him retaining the title. Let us hope that his current slump in form, which has seen him miss the cut in his last three tournaments is merely a blip, and that he will find the form that saw him to his massive victory last year. There is a plus side to his current lack of form for Irish golf gambling fans who believe he will come good, and that is the improved odds we can now get on a Mc Ilroy victory. We should not forget that there are several other top ranked Irish contenders for this title, so Irish fans of gambling on golf are still spoilt for choice if they are looking for an Irish winner. Let’s hope one of them can do it.
