This weekend sees the culmination of another exciting F1 season for motor racing gambling enthusiasts. The last race of the season will be run tomorrow at the famous Interlagos circuit in Brazil, and once again the Driver’s Championship is at stake following Lewis Hamilton’s remarkable win last weekend in Texas. Most sports gambling fans will still have Sebastion Vettel as a firm favourite to win the title again and there is no doubt that his 13 point lead over Fernando Alonso should be enough, but anything can happen in Formula One as this circuit has seen many times before. Every sports fan who enjoys gambling on motor racing will have nothing but admiration for the way Alonso has defended his title this season, and the fact that he is still within touching distance in what most observers consider to be an inferior car is testimony as to how difficult he is to beat. The spanner in the works could once again be Hamilton in his last race for McLaren, and he is certainly on a roll following last week’s victory and has been fastest in both the first two practice sessions in Brazil. Motor racing, and F1 in particular is never a totally predictable sport, and fans who have been gambling on motor racing this season will remember that even Vettel has failed to finish two races this season, once in a first lap collision and once with mechanical failure. This time there may be a third variable for F1 gambling fans to consider, and that is the weather. Apparently forecasters are predicting heavy rain and a massive drop in temperatures for the race, and with the circuit perched high above the skyline of Sao Paulo this race could be a lottery. If you’re thinking of gambling on this race or the destination of the Driver’s Championship, the Brazilian Grand Prix may well be a bit of a roller coaster ride. One thing is certain it will not be a boring procession.
