What can rugby gambling fans learn from recent form

One of the common factors found amongst ardent sports gambling fans is their search for clues in the form book, although there is ample evidence that form is not always very reliable. All the northern hemisphere teams taking part in that tournament have recently been involved in the series of autumn internationals against southern hemisphere opponents, so what if anything can fans of gambling on rugby take from what they have seen over the last few weeks. Only South Africa and New Zealand have remained unbeaten, as befits the current top two in the current world rankings, but what of the European teams and what did we learn of their current form. For Irish rugby gambling fans, Ireland started well with a comfortable victory over Samoa, but then failed to get close to beating an Australian side who had come off a poor domestic tournament and already been beaten by England. Then last weekend the Irish side suddenly produced their best rugby for a long time to power to a 19-0 lead over world champions New Zealand. Unfortunately they were unable to maintain that dominance, losing 22-24 in the last minute, but they had clearly shown what the team is capable of. England also produced a good performance against New Zealand again losing late in the game, but they did beat Australia and Argentina. Wales are of course the current six nations champions, and if there was ever a reason for fans of gambling on rugby to ignore the form book, at least in terms of the autumn internationals, Wales provided it this year by winning the six nations having lost all four of their matches against southern hemisphere opposition weeks before. Wales still have to play Australia next weekend to complete their series, and then there is the total enigma that is France. Perhaps rugby gambling fans will have to take more notice of home advantage again this year, putting both Wales and France in the frame with three home matches each.
