Gambling on rugby is never easy to predict

Irish sports gambling fans who take a particular interest in rugby union will probably have much to ponder at the half way point of the Heineken Cup  pool stages. Success in the Heineken Cup for Irish teams has become almost expected over recent years, but this season has not been quite so straightforward, with the possible exception of Northern Ireland rivals Ulster. Unfortunately the last round of matches will have disappointed many Irish rugby gambling enthusiasts, with Munster losing to Saracens in pool one, Connacht losing to Biarritz in pool three, and the holders Leinster also on the losing side at home against Clermont Auvergne. These results place Munster and Connacht out of the qualifying places at the half way point, and Leinster only second in pool five to Clermont, just one point ahead of newcomers to the competition Exeter. Irish fans gambling on rugby will be hoping for better results over the remaining series of matches. Rugby gambling fans will also be looking forward to the Six Nations tournament which starts early in the new year, although many rugby pundits feel that Ireland may not be as strong as in previous years. Having said that, who would have expected Six Nations Champions Wales to have had such a poor series of Autumn internationals, and this tournament is never easy to predict. Later in the year rugby gambling enthusiasts also have the latest Lions tour to look forward to, with several leading Irish players expected to be selected. As anybody who has ever played, or even watched the game will know, rugby is a tough game and injuries will undoubtedly play their part in any rugby gambling predictions for any of these tournaments.
